Even though I have been a crafter and maker my whole life, it was only recently that I began to consider a career as an artist. I have been busy taking electives throughout high school in engineering and considered my fine arts credits primarily for fun. In the past two years, however, I realized that I excelled in the arts and that I could seamlessly integrate my love of art into my engineering studies. I may lack some of the training and skills that students who took more art in high school possess, however, I believe I have the aptitude and drive to perfect these foundations while learning more advanced techniques. I cannot imagine a career in which I am not creative and making every day.
